Bulls-Eye: How This Points to Yeshua
Vanity Fair is Bunyan’s powerful picture of the world system that hates pilgrims who refuse to conform. It represents the constant pressure to buy, sell, and live for temporal things instead of the eternal. Faithful’s steadfast witness and martyrdom echo the suffering Church throughout history. Yeshua warned us: “If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you” (John 15:18 NKJV). He alone is worthy of our allegiance over the fair’s merchandise.

Pilgrim’s Progress Reflection
Christian and Faithful refuse to join the buying and selling of the fair. This mirrors the call to be in the world but not of it. The world offers cheap trinkets and temporary pleasure; Yeshua offers the pearl of great price and eternal life.

Twisted Scripture Warning
Some twist “be in the world” into loving its values. Vanity Fair shows the danger: compromise leads to entanglement. True faith stands firm, even at the cost of life.

Application for Today (Acceleration Age)
In our time of AI-driven commerce, social credit, digital currencies, and constant distraction, Vanity Fair is more seductive than ever. The “mark” systems we discussed (buying and selling) feel closer. Yet the call remains: Refuse the fair’s wares. Fix your eyes on Yeshua, the Author and Finisher. For the AuDHD pilgrim, regulation tools (weighted blanket, foxes, little-side comforts) must never become idols of the fair — keep them under the Cross.
