The Baptism of Jesus and the Trinity

The Baptism of Jesus (Matthew 3:13-17) is the first clear revelation of the Trinity in the New Testament:
- The Son is baptized.
- The Spirit descends like a dove and rests on Him.
- The Father speaks from heaven: “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”
Isaiah’s Prophecy about the Voice:
This moment fulfills Isaiah 42:1 — “Behold! My Servant whom I uphold, My Elect One in whom My soul delights! I have put My Spirit upon Him…”
The Father’s declaration echoes this Servant Song, identifying Yeshua as the chosen Servant-Messiah.
Significance:
- Yeshua was baptized not for repentance (He had no sin), but “to fulfill all righteousness” — identifying with sinners and obeying the Father perfectly.
- This public anointing marks the beginning of His ministry.
Yeshua Connection:
At His baptism, the entire Trinity is present and delighted in the Son. Yeshua is the beloved Servant who perfectly obeys and brings salvation.
