Matthew 05 – The Beatitudes – The Character of the Kingdom

The Beatitudes (Matthew 5:3-12) describe the character of those who belong to Yeshua’s Kingdom. They are the opposite of worldly values:
- Poor in spirit → Recognize their spiritual bankruptcy and need for God.
- Those who mourn → Grieve over sin and brokenness.
- The meek → Gentle, humble, and submissive to God.
- Hunger and thirst for righteousness → Deep longing for true holiness.
- The merciful → Show compassion as they have received it.
- Pure in heart → Single-minded devotion to God.
- Peacemakers → Actively pursue peace and reconciliation.
- Persecuted for righteousness → Willing to suffer for doing right.
Yeshua Connection:
These qualities are perfectly displayed in Yeshua Himself. He is inviting us to become like Him by grace.
