Hineni (הִנֵּנִי)
“Here I am. Use me.”
Hineni is one of the most powerful and humble responses a person can give to God in Scripture.
Biblical History
- Abraham — When God called him to sacrifice Isaac: “Here I am” (Genesis 22:1, 11).
- Moses — At the burning bush, when God called him to deliver Israel: “Here I am” (Exodus 3:4).
- Samuel — As a young boy, awakened by the Lord’s voice: “Speak, for Your servant hears” — but first, “Here I am” (1 Samuel 3:4-10).
- Isaiah — In the throne room of God, after seeing the glory of the Lord: “Here am I! Send me.” (Isaiah 6:8)
In each case, Hineni is not a casual “I’m here.” It is a full-hearted surrender — “I am fully present, ready to obey, use me.”
My Simple Prayer
Hineni — Here I am, use me.
I am not a prophet. I am not bringing new revelation. I am a fellow pilgrim whose mind was wired with a particular way of seeing. I offer that wiring back to the King with open hands.
Whether through quiet conversations, written words, or the gospel messages inked on my arms, my prayer remains the same:
Hineni.
Use me to point others to the true Yeshua Ha-Mashiach — the Great I AM — and to the narrow Gate that leads to life.
