Sincere Yet Deceived
Compassion for the Sincere Who Walk Another Path
It is a heavy grief to watch people who are genuinely sincere, loving, and full of good deeds — people who pray, serve, and speak of Christ with warmth — yet follow a path that adds to or changes the pure gospel.
This is one of the most painful realities of the narrow way.
Scripture Speaks to Sincere Deception
Matthew 7:21-23 reminds us that many who call Him “Lord” and do impressive works in His name will one day hear, “I never knew you.”
2 Corinthians 11:13-15 (NKJV)
“For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.”
Sincerity does not equal truth. Religious zeal and loving deeds do not equal the narrow gate. The enemy is skilled at producing counterfeit light that looks very much like the real thing.
The Pain of Watching Loved Ones
We see their love for family, their kindness, their service, and their moral uprightness — and it hurts precisely because so much of it reflects the image of God. Yet Scripture is clear: sincerity in a false system does not save. Only knowing the true Yeshua — the uncreated Son, the finished work, the narrow gate — brings eternal life.
Bull’s Eye – Yeshua Alone
The most loving thing we can do is keep the target clear. Yeshua does not save us because we are sincere or because our lives look good. He saves us because we have come to the real Him.
John 14:6 and Acts 4:12 leave no room for other ways, no matter how beautiful they appear.
