Ruach ha Kodesh (רוּחַ הַקֹּדֶשׁ) is the beautiful Hebrew title for the Holy Spirit — “the Holy Breath” or “the Spirit of Holiness.”
We love using this name here because it honors the way the Jewish writers of Scripture knew and experienced Him. It reminds us that the same Ruach who hovered over the waters at creation (Gen 1:2), empowered the prophets, and rested upon Yeshua at His baptism (Matt 3:16) is the very same Person who now dwells in every believer.
Yeshua promised His followers:
“I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever — the Spirit of truth.” (John 14:16-17)
Ruach ha Kodesh is not an impersonal force. He is the personal, powerful, comforting, teaching, convicting, and empowering presence of God Himself. He glorifies Yeshua, leads us into all truth, and writes the law of God upon our hearts.
We use the Hebrew name with joy and reverence, just as we do with Yeshua ha Mashiach — not to be pretentious, but because we love Him deeply and want to draw near to the real, living God of Israel who has revealed Himself to us.
