Bull’s Eye
Many sincere people are aiming at a religious target that uses Christian words but is not the narrow gate Christ appointed. Bunyan’s allegory repeatedly warns against this danger:
- Formalist and Hypocrisy climb over the wall instead of entering the Gate.
- Ignorance travels almost to the end but has no certificate and is cast away.

Pilgrim’s Progress Reflection
Bunyan wrote this book while in prison for preaching the simple gospel. He wanted ordinary people to understand the real Christian journey.
For readers coming from systems that speak much of Jesus yet require continued human effort and sacred rituals, Bunyan’s story is both a warning and a great comfort.
